Bail Bonds Q and A
I'm a co-signer. What does this mean?
It means that if the defendant doesn't show up for all of his or her court dates, you are responsible for the full amount of the bond plus all legal costs and recovery fees.
What do I do if the defendant skips out of court?
Help us locate him or her quickly. That is the only way to relieve you of your legal responsibility as a co-signer.
What if the defendant misses a court date?
Call us right away, and we will instruct you about what to do. Don't wait, because it won't go away. Time only makes it worse for you.
Do I need collateral?
Usually not. We have factors that we consider, such as how big the bond is, whether the defendant has missed court before, or whether they or you live out of state. Call us, as everyone is evaluated individually without discrimination.
What is a premium?
A premium is the money that the bail bondsman earns for providing the bond. You do not get that money back.
